Today we're going to take a look at the replacement zip strip straps for the Yakima standard bike rack cradles. This is for a quantity of two. This set of zip strips will replace the lost or damaged straps for the Yakima standard anti-sway cradles. These are nice hassle-free zip strip straps that'll secure your bike to the bike rack and they are fully removable. They are designed to fit the Yakima hitch-mounted bike carriers that utilize these zip strips and that would be the Ridgeback that are manufactured before 2016, the Swing Daddy, which is manufactured before 2016, the Full Tilt and the Full Swing. This part does include the two replacement straps and then just for a demonstration purpose, I happened to pull, here's what the anti-sway cradle would be like on those bike racks. The way the zip strips would work as you can see, you just insert it right over like that, push it all the way in, and push it down as far as you need to to tighten your bike to the cradle.
Then to release it, all you have to do is push in on these, and it's fully removable. Comes right out. That includes two of them, because you can use one for the anti-sway cradle portion also. Again, you just adjust them by pushing them in. Push these levers in and you pull it out as far as you need or completely all the way out. That should do it for the review on the replacement zip strip straps for the Yakima standard bike rack cradles, quantity of two..
It’s a tight fit. I don’t know if I ordered the correct one. Yes, it’s a very tight fit. Reason I ordered it anyway because it was the recommended parts that showed up on my search for the ridgeback yakima bike rack..
Exact replacement for my Yakima Ridgeback bike rack. I wasn't sure I'd even find the parts. Thank you, etrailer!
Straps fit perfectly have used them several times a little pricey for small plastic straps but does the job fast shipping as always from e trailer
These were perfect replacements for some missing straps on our Yakima Fullswing rack.
I must say I got worried at first since USPS tracking initially reported them as coming four days later than expected (two days after our trip) but then USPS corrected their delivery time and they exactly as expected.
Great service from etrailer with great communication as to the status of your order. Thanks!

It's never fun tracking an order that gets delayed so I'm glad it turned out ok :) Thank you! Where did you go for your trip?
Awesome!
Seems like exact replacement for the missing part. All shapes, curves and dimensions are line to line to the original straps. Fits like a glove!
These are OEM replacement for Yakima bike rack zip strips. Perfect replacement, as good as originals!
great company to deal with. Super fast shipping, great communication and excellent prices! The Yakima zipstraps are awesome, too. True Yakima quality, which i'm using to keep my favorite bikes secure on the rack!
Nice that they sell replacement straps for the bike rack.
Fast shipping. Perfect replacement. Excellent customer service and follow up. Etrailer is awesome and has never disappointed me.

I'm glad that we can be your go-to, Todd. Whatever you need, we got you!
It doesn't fit my Yakima RidgeBack 2. It is more thicker than the original one.

I have gotten in contact with the manufacturer and they have confirmed that there is a possibility that the straps for your ridgeback 2 will indeed be different, if the date-code shows that your ridgeback 2 was manufactured after 2015. The date-code can be located on the bike rack, as seen in the diagram attached. Based off of the picture you provided, the manufacturer is pretty confident that this strap will not fit your bike rack. If you currently have the straps on the left, then you will need the SuperCush ZipStrips 2020+. Currently we do not carry this part on our site, but I have sent in a request to get this part added to the site. In the mean time, I can send you the information for the manufacturer to get the correct straps sent out to you as soon as possible. I will send you this information via email.
Looking for very hard to find replacement straps for a Yakima rack. After an ordering issue (my fault), I was able to return the incorrect ones and the replacement straps were delivered within the week! Very prompt and convenient!
I have searched for this product for a long time. I was absolutely pleased to find it. Ordering and shipping was no problem and fast.

Still working great.

Perfect replacement for my lost straps for my Yakima bike rack, and they arrived quickly!
The details pictures and video of the product on your website were very helpful to me when searching the perfect match for what I needed.
Thank you very much for on time delivery.
These fit perfectly for my old Yakima Ridgeback bike rack.
Good product
Got great service; price was reasonable and shipping was within reason also. Time it took to get the product was good also; a very positive shopping experience - thank you.
Process was efficient and worked smoothly. Good communication was appreciated!
I wanted a bike rack that I could handle without tools [I'm 70+]; that did what it said it would do, hold bikes securely without a lot of fuss, and that looked good. This product met all my criteria. I like the way it can be pulled back to access the trunk. The only con I have and, it's nothing major, is that the tape used to spell Yakima can be rubbed loose by the bike pedal. A recessed or engraved name would be preferable. That being said I love my rack.

I still love it. Just wish the zip strips weren so easy to lose.
I bought a used Full Swing Rack that was missing a few parts. The Yakima Website was out of them all (and according to other reviews on their site, had been so for several months), and Yakima didn't have a date on when they expected to get them in. etrailer had the parts available, with one exception, these ZipStrips.
etrailer had given me an expected ship date of a week out from when I placed my order. A month later, and after the trip I needed the parts for, my order shipped. The main problem I have with etrailer, is that they held the entire order until this part was in. I could have worked around these straps, but really needed the SpeedKnob they were sitting on, until the entire order was filled. However, etrailer still gets 4 stars, because they are the only place on the internet (including Yakima) that sells these (they are discontinued) and they aren't trying to gouge you on the price.
As for the Strips themselves, they fit perfectly.

Thank you for your review. In order to get the free shipping, your entire order ships at the same time. If you wanted the other parts sooner, you would have to pay for shipping.
Somehow, after a major bike ride, our zip straps were missing, and without them, we could not use our Yakima carrier, especially because my husband's electric bike is heavy. I could no longer get replacements from [online store] or Yakima and was even sent the wrong size once. I was really grateful that Noah from your company sent me exactly the right size, and they arrived quicker than I expected. I expect to use the carrier for many more years and will definitely look to etrailer if I ever need anything else for it.

Great - will be heading out next month with my bike carrier when I travel to Louisiana.
Factory oem replacement
These zip strips do not work on the newer Yakima Full Tilt bike racks. (I bought the rack this year) After doing some more research on the Yakima site, I believe the newer Full Tilt bike rack require the super crush zip strips. Online e-trailer description for what racks these fit is not correct (although the customer service rep said she would correct this description). Do extensive research before purchasing these to see if they will fit your rack. DOES NOT FIT FULL TILT RACK. Fast shipping and good customer service.

Yakima FullTilt bike racks made after 2016 will use the newer ZipStrip for SuperCrush Cradles 8880566.

Everything was perfect
Ordered these zip strips from website which said they were the correct ones for my Yakima Ridgeback2 rack. They are the wrong size. Apparently they fit racks manufactured prior to 2016, mine was manufactured in 2017. The size of the teeth on the zip strip changed on the newer racks. No way to know that when ordering them. Old part #8899257, newer part #8880566. I had to contact Yakima Customer Service myself to find all this out. I was told the receiver for the zip strip is grey on the older mfg rack and black on the newer racks. Etrailer is checking to see if they can just send me the correct ones. It would have saved a lot of hassle if the website made that distinction for ordering parts.

That is correct Colette, the older Yakima Ridgeback that was produced before 2015 has a gray release button, and the newer version has a black release button.

Hey Fernando. Yakima does have two different straps that would work for the Ridgeback, its based off the racks manufacturing date. The part you ordered, part # Y8890297, would be for racks manufactured before December 2015. Part # Y55XR would be used on racks manufactured after December 2015. I did go out and look at both straps and part # Y8890297 is shorter and thinner of the 2. Part # Y55XR is longer and thicker, not by much, so if the current straps are the right thickness I wouldn't try the other ones, they will be too wide. Let me know if you have an other questions!
